Methodist Hospital’s community
outreach department visited
about a dozen elementary
schools in Arcadia, El Monte and
Rosemead this year as part of a
$25,000 California Endowment
grant to help prevent childhood
obesity and encourage health
and fitness as a way of life. A
team that included a registered
dietitian, physical therapist and
registered nurse provided the
children with information on
healthy eating and exercise, as
well as healthy snack recipes to
take home. Each child received
a Fit Kids
TM
bag with healthy
snacks, water and a jump rope,
as well as a Fit Kids
TM
certificate.
THAT

healthier lifestyle can seem
